| Blade Runner replicant checks into rehab
Actress Sean Young has voluntarily checked herself into rehab for alcohol abuse, following an unseemly outburst at Saturday night's Directors Guild Awards which saw her escorted from the premises. Young, 48, who played replicant Rachael in Blade Runner (see pic), heckled director Julian Schnabel during his speech as a nominee for The Diving Bell and the Butterfly, apparently insisting he hurry up. When Schnabel realised who was gobbing off, he suggested Young "have another cocktail". The actress was then removed from the building. Her PR firm announced yesterday: "Sean Young voluntarily admitted herself yesterday to a rehabilitation center for treatment related to alcoholism. It is understood that Young has struggled against the disease for many years." Young had a promising future following 1980s outings in Blade Runner, Stripes and No Way Out, but the wheels came off when she hit the bottle.

There are only a handful of musicians making that kind of coin...listen, it's the smaller, middle of the road bands that get the shaft, and they make up about 95% of the industry. That means a five piece band that could make $100,000 (20, 000 per member), and make a living doing music ( a crappy living at that)...now only makes about $30,000 and can hardly even stay alive, let alone keep playing music. Keep it in perspective and realize that about 1 in a million musicians is really a millionare...most of them barely scrape by as it is. It's a shame people have such a flippant attitude about stealing peoples jobs away and making it so thousands of musicians have to give up playing because they no longer can make enough money to stay afloat. Ridiculous. .
The bleak tale of Crispin and the crosses he bears
This is where things get complicated, as Davis' slightly underdeveloped and straightforward script is an odd match with the director. There are moments (such as a scene where Crispin and Bear fall asleep onstage, then awake a few moments later, signifying the next day) when the action is handled so clumsily we could almost be watching a student production. At other times (as during the stylized sound and movements of the manor's armed guards) the production rises to the occasion: the introduction of children to progressive theater. Still, Davis' script will undoubtedly distract children who haven't read the book, as it offers too little explanation during Bear's clandestine meetings with John Ball. (Yeah, I didn't know who he was, either.) Although the cast is uneven, Christopher Patrick Mullen's Bear is, if not exactly bearish, an appealing and warm presence.
Sacred Heart keeps growing
With four buildings on campus and 15 new classrooms, Sacred Heart School now has more space for students at the corner of Walnut Street and Southern Avenue. "It's great that we've come to this point without having to relocate," said Michael Anderson, whose daughter was in last year's first graduating class since 1966. "It shows great commitment to the neighborhood and to Hattiesburg." .

Thinking Right
This alone should be enough to derail the Mormontologist flip-flopper and catapult the Godly Salt-of-the-Earth Rev. Huckabee to Primacy. (Though by 'primacy', THE Captain does not imply any Episco-Catholic status upon the Godly Mike. Let's leave that devil's stain to Don Vito Giuliani!) The open ballot forum is another innovation that should be adopted nationwide. This would certainly go a long way to wives pledging to vote Right, only to be seduced by the siren song of Bill "Mighty Fallus" Clinton or Barack Obamandingo. Women need to be protected from their base animal natures, and this is a salutary method for applying proper guidance. Yes, what could be more fitting than that we turn to a state of White Christianist scat-shovellers to designate the front-runners in the Presidential campaign? The New Hampshirites can no longer be trusted to be first in the Nation on this question, as the flood of migrating Islamassachulesbians has polluted their once Godly political bloodline.
