No Bond For Teacher Accused In Internet Sex Sting
ARLINGTON, Va. -- A Spanish teacher and track coach at Chantilly High School has been denied bond on charges he used his computer to solicit sex with a minor. In denying bond Tuesday for Matthew McGuire, 29, an Arlington County judge cited the difficulty in regulating McGuire's access to the Internet. McGuire's attorney had argued there was no evidence that McGuire would be an online predator if he was released. The defense claimed to have letters from 31 parents, teachers and students supporting McGuire. .
Sundancing: Jessica & Cash; Plus, Paris & Jared?
My day started yesterday at about 8 a.m. There was no time for breakfast, but I was able to down a quick cup of coffee before heading to the Kari Feinstein Style Lounge to interview Emily Blunt about her new movie Sunshine Cleaning. (The movie, costarring Amy Adams and about two sisters who open a crime-scene cleaning company, is one of the most buzzed about flicks of the festival). I’ll have more of my chat with Ms. Blunt later this week, but I must tell you that she revealed something quite, um, big about her singer boyfriend, Michael Bublé. When one of her posse handed her a box of size XL condoms from Proper Attire, she laughed, "These will be good for Michael." I finally grabbed something to eat at the MySpace Café at the Lift, where Tom Arnold barreled in and quickly explained why he was so, well, wet.

Some residents believe unsolved break-ins to blame for accidental ...
NATCHEZ —Some Natchez residents believe the accidental shooting death of Deborah Mizell on Tuesday is a symptom of the stress generated by a rash of unsolved home and auto break-ins. Mizell's husband shot and killed her believing she was a home intruder. There have been four break-ins downtown and one in the Jeff Davis area. Ann Tillman's car was broken into in December. “It makes everyone on edge and fearful," she said. The recent car burglary wasn't Tillman's first exposure to being the victim of a crime. Four years ago her house was also hit. Tillman said the invasion of her home and subsequent auto break-in left her feeling unprotected and fearful. Since this rash of break-ins started weeks ago, Police Chief Mike Mullins said catching the perpetrator or perpetrators has become top priority.
AnyTrack GPS Tracker: At This Price, Close Isn't Good Enough
Though the device is small and handy, during the entire time I tested the AnyTrack GPS-100, it never registered an exact address. Instead, it usually came within a house or two of the device's actual location, so be forewarned: If you're planning to use it to build your divorce case by catching a spouse in the wrong place, you might have to knock on a few doors before you get the right one. Prep roundtable: Competition costs
Jim Skelly: The fees are usually the first item looked at for school funding issues, at least in our district. We're looking [in Lakeville] at raising them to at least $230 per student for participation [in a high school sport] across the board and $175 dollars at the middle school level, which is very difficult to swallow. There's kind of a balancing act between the fee and what that might do to participation numbers, because we want kids involved with athletics. So, it's kind of a balancing act between helping to fund the programs and also being able to raise fees so we can continue on. I remember when I was in high school, I think it was $25. It's changed quite a bit over the last couple decades, and that's going to be a continued hot-button issue. Al Frost: Our fee [in Minneapolis] is 60 bucks.
