| Hall prevails on Hooters Tour
Kevin Hall, 25, won his first Hooters Tour event Thursday with a 14-under par 202 for three rounds at Forest Lake Golf Club near Orlando, Fla. Hall, a graduate of St. Rita School for the Deaf who played for Winton Woods and Ohio State, won by four strokes and earned $12,000. "What an amazing week," Hall e-mailed to the Enquirer. "I came into this event with a game plan and I executed my plan to a T. I played very patient golf. ... I hope the win will help me inch closer to my dreams this year." .
Labeling abortion 'evil' is just unfair
The Sun's photo captioned "A 'March for Life' in Washington" (Jan. 23) shows thousands of anti-abortion demonstrators walking up Constitution Avenue in Washington. But what about American lives after birth? The United States ranks near the bottom for infant mortality among the developed countries. And according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the death rate of babies born to African-American mothers in poverty is 2.5 times the rate for babies born to white mothers. And what about our shamefully high homicide rate? I hope those demonstrators care about these precious lives after birth. .

Biden eligible for public money. ___ AP-Pew Poll: GOP presidential candidates in early voting states struggle for supremacy WASHINGTON (AP) _ No one Republican presidential candidate is a shoo-in in Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina, according to in-depth polling by The Associated Press and the nonpartisan Pew Research Center. Across the three states, tight battles are being waged for voters' trust on Iraq, immigration and other key Republican issues and for control of pivotal groups including conservatives, white evangelicals and men. And it is Mitt Romney, not national front-runner Rudy Giuliani, who is ahead in New Hampshire and fighting for the lead in Iowa and South Carolina _ three very different races.
