| Issues take back seat at debate as Obama and Clinton tangle
Example #1 comes from Michigan, where John McCain last week told the truth when he said that many of the formerly great Michigan industrial jobs will never come back. Romney, on the other hand, sucked up and told everyone they will. I call B.S. on that. Joe blow American can't handle the truth that the halycon days of the 50s are over for good in this global economy and Romney wins big time. Example #2 comes from the Obama campaign. In the Nevada debate he was asked about his biggest weakness. Hmmm, do we all have weaknesses? Last time I checked we do. Well, he tells the truth and says he's not the greatest with paperwork. Edwards, on the other hand, says his biggest weakness is that "he cares too much". Hillary adds that her biggest weakness is that she gets too impatient with the speed of change.

When German authorities translated Thompson's lyrics, something we ask all of you to do, they soon learned what the band is really about. And the show went on as planned. We find it extremely hard to believe that Thompson's most vocal critics are not aware of this. Once again, we remind you that Thompson performed a successful show in Frankfurt, Germany. The concert and the translation of lyrics made by German authorities were reported by major media-outlets in that country. As correctly and truthfully reported in the newspapers Allgemeine Zeitung and Frankfurter Allgemeine, Thompson's lyrics neither promote, nor incite, violence. There has never been a violent incident at a Thompson concert Because of many false accusations and outright lies, we'd like to mention that there has never been an incident at any of Thompson's many concerts.
Margaret Truman Daniel, 83, president's daughter, author
She had appeared in college productions and in a few radio programs for children. That limited experience, combined with encouragement from actress Helen Hayes, name recognition, and an able agent, won her a professional radio play debut opposite James Stewart in 1951. She portrayed Stewart's wife in an NBC adaptation of the 1950 motion picture comedy "The Jackpot." Mrs. Daniel was under contract to NBC and from 1954 to 1961, cohosted "Authors in the News" and in 1955-56 cohosted with Mike Wallace the radio program "Weekday." In 1956, her marriage at 32 to Daniel and the subsequent birth of four sons sharply curtailed her acting career. She settled into the role of wife, mother, and New York society matron, a happiness dimmed when she moved back to Washington in the 1970s when her husband became Washington bureau chief for the Times.

Today, Bolinas is home to remarkable commercial farmers and ranchers who have gained local admiration and international recognition for their commitment to the health of their land and the high quality food that they produce. All of them work land that has a long history of agriculture. An 1867 map shows virtually every acre of land around the Bolinas Lagoon was part of a ranch, even the treeless, windswept Big Mesa. Each field and pasture has history in its soil. On October 27th you are invited to celebrate our local farmers and ranchers at the Bolinas Museum's Bolinas Farm Day and the opening of a history room exhibit on the continuity of food production in Bolinas. Sandy Dierks, who is working with history curator Elia Haworth to create the exhibition, lives on land that is layered with human history.
