He's just as equipped to go it alone as Radiohead and Nine Inch Nails were, if not more so.) But here's the thing: You get the feeling that for all his antics, Beck is the kind of guy who cares about his legacy. (I have no real evidence to support this claim, aside from the fact that he still seems stung by the one misstep in his career — 1999's over-the-top Midnite Vultures — inasmuch as every album he's released since has been a conscious attempt to distance himself from it.) He, perhaps more than anyone, is aware that even the Macho-est of Nachos will go soggy eventually. So, really, what is Beck's musical legacy? It's a question that seems somewhat silly, given the fact that he's still making music (dude didn't even put out a proper album last year and he still got a Grammy nod) but one that's also important to ask, because it raises the bigger question of whether legacies can even exist in this era — when music is treated as a commodity and people no longer listen to songs, they "consume" them.
Boogie Down In The Nashville Town
Alternately, for live shows on a smaller scale you can catch a local band at one of their haunts around town. Glossary plays Nashville style honkey-tonk but with a modern edge, while Trauma Team reminds the world that politicized post-punk is still alive and well in the hills of Tennessee. On a nice day, pay a visit to Centennial park, home to a Parthenon replica, and then get breakfast at the Pfunky Griddle, a make it yourself style breakfast place with on table griddles. To end your evening right, head over to Robert's Western World and grab a burger and a beer in the bar that both Tom Petty and Alison Kraus have graced with their presence. Roundabout Shifts Crimes of the Heart Opening to Valentine's Day
Roundabout Theatre Company's Off-Broadway production of Beth Henley's Crimes of the Heart has rescheduled its opening-night performance to Feb. 14. The production, currently in previews (from Jan. 18), has delayed its opening one week from the previously announced Feb. 7 "due to an injury Lily Rabe sustained during rehearsal which caused her to miss a week of preview performances," according to a release. Rabe resumed her role last week. Kathleen Turner directs the play, which is scheduled to play a limited engagement at the Laura Pels Theatre through April 13. Based on the recent Williamstown Theatre Festival mounting (also directed by Turner), Crimes of the Heart features a company that includes WTF stars Patch Darragh (Our Town) as Doc Porter, Jennifer Dundas (Arcadia) as Lenny Magrath, Sarah Paulson ("Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip") as Meg Magrath, Lily Rabe (Heartbreak House) as Babe Botrelle and Chandler Williams (Translations) as Barnette Lloyd with new cast member Jessica Stone (Butley) as Chick Boyle.
Nora Mae, a lady of many talents
Nora Mae Fox, a native of Todd County, was a lady of many talents and abilities, all freely shared with the community she loved. She graduated from the public schools of Elkton and received some of her musical education from Sherwood College, but most of it was God given and she knew that and was more than generous in her sharing with others.Nora Mae did many things for the good of the community, most all of them were musically inspired. She played for all of the civic clubs, was organist at Petrie Memorial United Methodist Church for nearly 50 years, missing only one service in all of that time and that included choir practice on Wednesday evenings, practicing with soloists at their convenience, not hers, and playing for countless weddings and probably more funerals, because people from all over the county requested that she play for their celebrations of life. She also taught music in the local schools and formed a band, known as "The Little Foxes." A great many of her band members came to her with little or no musical background, but when they graduated, they knew a good bit about music, and all the extras musical education provides — the necessity of paying attention, listening to others, sharing with those around you and a certain stage presence.

Huge triumph for McCain
Hillary Rodham Clinton of New York won a largely symbolic Florida Democratic primary. None of the Democrats campaigned in the state and no delegates will be awarded because the state party scheduled the contest earlier than the national party allowed. Sen. Barack Obama of Illinois was a distant second, with former Sen. John Edwards of North Carolina in third. Still, the Clinton campaign claimed a big Florida win. "I am thrilled by the vote of confidence you have given me today," Clinton said at a rally in Davie. The Obama campaign matched the effort to spin the results, mockingly saying it would call the race early and announcing that the candidates were tied for delegates — with each getting zero — when the results were in. The Republican Party also punished Florida for voting before Feb.
